THE CONSTRUCTION BOOKKEEPER - FIELD KIT
Paperkeel Press

Everything in this folder is also printed in full inside the book, in the
section called "The Construction Bookkeeper's Toolkit". The book is complete
without these files. They exist only so you can type into a sheet instead of
copying one out.

WHAT IS HERE

  Construction_Bookkeeper_Field_Kit.xlsx
Eight sheets. Blue text is something you type; black text is a formula,
so leave it alone. Yellow cells are the ones to fill in first. Each
sheet carries one example row in grey showing the expected format -
delete it once you have your own data in.

Read Me How the workbook is laid out
Client Setup Checklist The seven-point configuration (Chapter 12)
Billings vs Contract One sheet per job (Chapter 7)
Retainage Release Both directions (Chapter 8)
Overhead Recovery Rate Last year in, this year's rate out (Chapter 6)
Job Close-Out Actual against estimate (Chapter 4)
Subcontractor Register Credentials and expiries (Chapter 9)
Pricing and Scripts Tier lines and client sentences (Ch. 13, 15)

  Field_Kit_Printable_Cards.pdf
The same seven tools as printable US Letter pages, ruled for pen.
Useful on site, or for a client who will not open a spreadsheet.

  Bonus_The_First_Trade_Client.pdf
The companion guide: the demonstration engagement from Chapter 15,
walked through from the first message to a signed monthly tier.

A NOTE ON SCOPE

These are bookkeeping working papers. Deposit treatment, revenue recognition,
work-in-progress accounting, worker classification and insurance adequacy are
decisions for the client's CPA, tax adviser, insurer or attorney, informed by
the contract, the accounting method, the reporting framework and the
jurisdiction. The book marks every one of those boundaries, and so do these
sheets.

All figures shown are illustrative composites, not recommendations. Check your
own local and state requirements - licensing, lien deadlines, prompt-payment
statutes, retainage limits on public work - annually rather than trusting any
book, including this one.

Nothing is asked for in return. No purchase, review or rating is required or
requested, and there is no sign-up of any kind.
